Check out Saab’s ”invisible” submarine – New Technology

A new movie shows up Saab’s submarine A26. "The ability to not be seen is all."

Saab’s new submarine type A26 is designed to arouse as little attention as possible in the surrounding area. It is "silent, vibration-free and virtually invisible when it is under water," according to Gunnar Wieslander, head of business unit Saab Kockums.

"Stealth" is everything, ” he says in a new film about the A26 as Saab has published on its website.

In an animated sequence shows the Saab up on how the submarine moves in the water and on the various functions. Among other things, how the elongated frontslussen looks, where divers and less undervattensfartkoster can get in and out.

The two submarines being built at the karlskrona shipyard. The construction started in september last year. The first submarine will be delivered to the armed Forces by 2022. The assignment from FMV is worth 7.6 billion.
