Microsoft to crack Slack – working secretly on a competitor – IDG.se

The hyped chat service Slack has blown on competitors by a long way. Microsoft, which is said to have been considering adding a huge offer for the Slack, has beautifully been standing on the sidelines and watch as the newcomer picked customers from services such as SharePoint, Skype for Business and Yammer.

But now embarks the software giant into battle seriously.

Microsoft is working on a direct competitor to Slack called Skype Teams, reports MSPoweruser and refers to anonymous sources.

Just as in Slack said Skype Teams share in their Group chats in different channels, while Microsoft retains the ability to send instant messages – and unlike Slack you can start video calls directly from the app.
