He murdered his boss – would have reduced penalties – Expressen

Khurshed Karimov, 26, is sentenced to 18 years in prison for murdering his boss with 60 stab wounds in the idyllic archipelago Hamburgsund in January.

On Monday go goal in appeal to both the prosecutor and the convicted appealed the District Court decision.

Both Khurshed Karimov and Prosecutor has appealed the ruling. Prosecutor Thomas Willén want to examine whether the penalty can be tightened.

– 18 years is the longest timed penalty available, so in that way I was satisfied. But after reading the judgment and thinking a bit, I think there is reason for the Court of Appeal to consider whether there should be life imprisonment for this, he says to Bohusläningen.



Do the crime of altered

the murder investigation was marred by uncertainty – who really was the culprit? The Swedish police received help from Interpol to determine the perpetrator’s identity.

– It was just before the indictment that we received a response from Tajikistan who confirmed that it was this person with this passport number. The information came from their tax office, the detective inspector Sten Rune Timmersjö previously said.

Even Karimov has appealed. He wants the crime of be changed to manslaughter. Bohusläningen writes that the defense justify it to a dead man offended Khurshed Karimov and shoved him before the attack.

The defense has called Karimov’s fiancee as a witness – she’ll tell on observations during the evening because he called her just afterwards.

the prosecutor Thomas Willén have no new evidence to present at the upcoming court of Appeal hearing.

– It’s the same material as in the District court, but I think it is so aggravating circumstances that it should be life imprisonment, he says, to Bohusläningen.

on Monday begins the first of three trial days in the Court of Appeal.
