Building permits clear to Apple’s Irish data center – 99mac

Apple’s plans for a data center in Ireland appealed last year, but now the building permit approved and clear after Apple adjusted their plans.

at the beginning of last year 99mac reported that Apple planned to build two new data centers in Europe to manage its Internet services as iCloud, App Store, Maps, Siri and iTunes. One in Ireland and one in Denmark.

As with their other data centers Apple plans to completely operate the new plants using renewable energy sources. The construction in Ireland is by now firmly behind schedule when planning permission in September last year appealed for environmental reasons.

Now, however, the building permit approved and clear since Apple adjusted their building plans, reports Business Insider. The facility was originally supposed to be completed next year, but once the center is operational now remains to be seen.

The building permit now approved terms of a hall, but Apple hopes to expand center with seven more halls during the next 10-15 years.
