Bridge fault causing a stop in train – Aftonbladet

A Bridge fault in Töreboda has led to the complete shutdown of the train service between Stockholm and Gothenburg.

Approximately 4,000 travelers in eleven trains affected.

Currently, there is no forecast for when the trains can start running again.

– You can not close the bridge completely for the moment, says Agneta Eklund on Trafikverket’s press office.

Brofelet discovered at 16:20 pm on Sunday.

– You can not close the bridge completely. So it is unfortunately stop for train services to and from Gothenburg. Servicers will soon be in place, but at the moment we have no forecast for when the trains can start running again, says Agneta Eklund.

This error will cause delays on the Western Main Line.

it is currently unclear what caused the error and at 18:30 there was still no forecast for when it would be repaired .

According to SJ’s eleven trains and about 4,000 travelers who are affected.

– We have ordered replacement buses and watching the trains may be diverted, says Maja Rapp at SJ press office.

Elcim Yilmaz is fixed in Skövde, after having fallen by one of the affected trains.

– I have to go home to my children going to kindergarten in the morning, she says to Aftonbladet TV.

the train Elcim Yilmac sat on was en route from Gothenburg to Stockholm. She would arrive 18:35, but says that the mood on the train is fine.

– You’re used, not surprised, she says.

Right now Elcim Yilmaz stuck in Skovde, where the train backed down after an hour of waiting, because the replacement buses can not accommodate all affected travelers.

– Now we know that it can take one to five hours to cook. We know nothing.

Now Elcim Yilmaz sought help on Facebook and appeal to people to set up and run towards Stockholm.

– I’m happy to pay, I have to go home, she says.
