Symantec warns of security risks with Pokemon Go – FZ

There is no denying that the Pokemon Go is already a huge success, despite it not been in much of Europe (and Asia). In the shadow of the great successes there are always dishonest types who try to make themselves a quick hack in less thoughtful players so therefore security, Symantec published a series of tips and warnings on their site.

They can be summarized as this:

  • Do not download Pokemon Go from unofficial sites or marketplaces, the files may contain malicious software
  • Install the update that will remove the app’s request for full access to the your Google account
  • be aware of any other stuff app requests access to
  • Avoid software that promises cheating, they may contain malicious software
  • Keep your mobile phone’s internal software updated so that any security holes clogging
  • Use a strong, unique password for your Pokemon Go account
  • Install a säkerhetsapp on your phone (not surprisingly suggest Symantec’s own Norton programs)

it also points out that that one should be aware of their surroundings when you are out hunting. We have already read reports of people eager to get mugged or run off the road. One should also respect other people’s land estates and avoid places that feel insecure.
