One would think that all the world’s facades can view in Google Maps. But the Faroe Islands have never not been visited by the infamous cars. It has now led to the country’s tourist office made using sheep as photographers and created a blog: Sheep view.

– We assemble 360 ​​degree cameras on the sheep’s backs and releases them into the wild. When they come back, we select the finest photos and upload at Google, says Durita Dahl Andreassen, which holds the project.

She says that she has seen maps where the Faroes are not even listed.

Why do you just get that photographers?
– Everyone has a relationship with the sheep. Here live almost twice as many sheep as people. I grew up in a village and my grandfather was getting. They have always been around me.

Durita Dahl Andreassen is used to people not familiar with the Faroe Islands. The country belongs to Denmark, but even there, many have no idea what the Faroe Islands is the kind of country.

– They do not know how nature looks, but think it is like in Denmark. So people are always surprised when they come here.

The idea was to show Google what they are missing by not having the Street view in the Faroe Islands.
