Spotify App Store changes are not enough – 99mac

Spotify says now Apple’s upcoming changes in the App Store and ask for even more flexibility with how they can set their prices.

Recently, Apple’s Phil Schiller about the changes that are going on to the App Store, including on a new revenue distribution between Apple and developers in terms of subscriptions in the store.

Previously, Apple 30 percent of all revenue in the App Store and has given rest to developers, but in the future the company will change the distribution of subscriptions so that developers get to keep 85 percent.

Spotify communications manager Jonathan Price says now changes to The Verge that it is a nice gesture, but it is not enough.

– It’s a nice gesture, but does not go to the root of the problems with the Apple tax and payment system. Unless Apple changes its rules are flexibiitet pricing is not allowed, which is why we can not have deals or give off, and that means that we do not have the ability to share any savings to our customers. Apple still insists that stand between developers and their customers, which means that developers will continue to lack insight into why customers unsubscribe – or even who qualify as long-term subscribers.
