Setback for self-driving cars in Sweden – Data Inspection saws bill – IDG.se

In the interim report the investigator that CCTV is necessary for self-driving vehicles to function, the cameras used to read traffic signs, road design and to detect obstacles. They also needed to develop the vehicles.

The report suggests that it should not require an authorization for the cameras and that it will not require the consent of those who are outside the car – only by those inside the car.

“the proposals in the interim report is an extensive collection and processing integrity of sensitive footage from video surveillance as well as materials that are likely to contain personal data from other types of sensors,” writes the Swedish data inspection Board.
