One fell 30 meters carrying precipice – Aftonbladet

The man was out to watch birds near Rimforsa Östergötland. Then he fell performs a 25-30 meter high cliff.

The man was injured so badly that he died.

The man, who is in his 50s, was part of a group the four people who were in a mountainous area outside Östergötland Rimforsa. At 11:30 pm came the alarm about the man fallen off a cliff and fell 25-30 meters.

– The man must have gone a little ahead of the others, and for reasons unknown fallen down. He has hit the ground below, says Staffan Waldau, rescue leader at the emergency services in Kinda.

– It’s pretty nasty terrain there. The chutes are very steep and comes suddenly.

Supply to hospital

The man’s injuries were so severe that he died at the scene.

– The others in the group began cardiopulmonary resuscitation. But the man was dead when the ambulance got there, says Ronny Dahlqvist, duty officer at the Östergötland police, to Aftonbladet.

In a recreation area

The three others in the party have made it down the mountain. They are physically unharmed but shocked.

– Paramedics have supported them, says Staffan Waldau.

The area includes both the reserve and lookouts. According to police, the group was there to watch birds.

– They would study the bird life, says Ronny Dahlqvist.

Police suspect no crime in connection with the incident.

– The case of a pure accident. We have been there and documented the site, but no crime scene investigation has not been completed. We have not made the assessment that it is necessary, says Ronny Dahlqvist.

The man’s relatives are informed.
