This is all we know about Battlefield 1 – Gamereactor Sweden

Ever since 2002, when Dice released Battlefield 1942, the series has been the ultimate sandbox for warfare in the air, at sea and on land. Now in October, the classic rock, scissors and bag-like concept will be revived with brutal melee combat, sweaty dogfights in rickety biplanes, trembling tank battles and sword duels on horseback in five, beautiful and varied areas.

Battlefield 1 is almost scary nicely.

the first thing that becomes apparent is how good Battlefield 1 is to convey the numbing effects of seeing a beautiful landscape turns into a war-torn hell where everything from the blade of a shovel, träpropellrar from the earliest battle flights to the iconic, British, tanks have an overwhelming physical, presence. Or, as the game’s producer Aleksandra Grøndal describes it: “The beautiful chaos of all-out war. The most realistic world we have created.”

Expect really obese sequences that will make you gasp for breath.

in the world premiere in London talked Aleksandra Grøndal more about the differences in technology on the battlefield in Battlefield 1, the cavalry on horseback, tanks and biplanes may unite and work together. We get to see concept art of the riders who will avslängda when planes fly low and shoot so the dust completely dizzy and there is a palpable sense of vulnerability gritty soldiers running through the trenches while protecting mashed by the onslaught of tanks. Out in the fields, the soldiers are equipped with a melee weapon to club down their opposition or run straight through, with bayonets at the ready.

This is so far from the soldiers armed with Kevlar vests from Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 as it going to come. A machine will tear both the bodies and clothes of those who find themselves on the wrong side of it, and to see a soldier equipped with a flamethrower when he burns his screaming victim is almost a bit creepy, but end up being close to a soldier on horseback in a duel is also terribly exciting. To succeed in becoming the hero in these situations almost feels like an impossible task and the first step is to take control of their fears.

In many ways it feels Battlefield 1 almost like a contrast to call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Which one do you prefer?

The missions in the story will be stories of several characters and play out in various places including the Italian Alps, Arabian deserts, as well as fields and forests in France. It is described as an era of contrasts and heroism where the intensity and the atmosphere in the fighting set by artillery bombarded broken surroundings. Apparently just the destruction had been toned down after the early game tests, because it was shown that there were no places left to take shelter after the bombing had been going on for a while.

the vehicles are a bit more primitive than we are used to …

a new focus has been placed on melee engines and its various strategies, in both multiplayer and campaign. There are different types of melee weapons, each with different advantages and disadvantages, which further strengthens the stone, scissors and bag-theme, which means that all players can find a style that fits. We check to the bigger tools, there are different types and sizes of tanks, there are biplanes and bombers, horses, and battleships to tune around.

New character classes have been created and in addition to classic sets Assault and Scout there Armoured Officers and pilots with specific missions and rewards. Co-operation will, as always, be needed in large-scale wars where up to 64 players can clash. However, it will go great to play alone, for those who want it. But to encourage games together introduces Dice something called Persistent Squad is a squad of five people who can switch activities and goals for many long gaming moments together.

Count with more raw violence ever before. Reality strikes unfortunately often the poem.

Throughout the event there is talk about Battlefield sense in which it is up to each individual to define their experience. Great emphasis is placed on the advent of mechanical warfare mixed with the other, more simple, way to war and the important stone, scissors and bag-ground allowing a sniper to (a shot) to eliminate a pilot.

Even though the equipment, we will have access to may seem unpolished to what we are used to in Battlefield 4 will be able to customize their weapons, more information about it appear in the coming months but to make up for it we get see, we are attracted by the possibility of gas warfare, where the entire battlefield can be covered with poisonous gas and opponents must be equipped with gas masks to get around. All parts of the Battlefield 1 are built that way, as the example of the melee again, it is important to judge the distance to the enemy correctly and knowing which weapons are good for a certain situation to succeed.

minesweeper by bilplan? Yes please!

Aleksandra Grøndal promise Battlefield 1 is a huge game and we have seen during the presentation only scratched the surface. Next time we will be able to put our sticky fingers on the game will be under the EA Play event, which takes place June 12 to 14 in Los Angeles and London. It will also be offered early access to the game for everyone who signs up for the service Battlefield Insider via battlefield.com. The game will be released on October 21st but buys Early Enlister Edition allows it started playing in October 18, additionally, you will be able to play Battlefield 1 first on the PC and Xbox One, via EA Access.

Battlefield 1 released for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 21 October.

until now we have only had Verdun, the PC game that depicts the first World war, to capture the era. But, given what we have seen and the passion of the creative director Lars Gustavsson, there is much to look forward to when DICE “depicts the transition to the new world and the end of the four empires”.
