Microsoft is blocking terrorist materials – Västerbotten Courier

IT giant Microsoft has adopted a new policy aimed weapon at what the company describes as “terrorist content”.

In a blog post describing the company how the type of content will be removed in including gaming network X-box live, email service Outlook, and its document-sharing service. Search Engine Bing is not covered by the new policy, then the company in this case refers to freedom of expression.

Users will be able to report the suspected terrorist content, but Microsoft is also developing technology that searches for and select content such as images, audio and video.

Nätjättar previously adopted the same policy, Google, Facebook and Twitter.

According to Microsoft’s post is “terrorist content” such as published by or in support of the organizations of the United Nations terrorist list and depicts violence, inciting violence, supports terrorist organizations or acts of terrorism, and calls for the connection of terrorist groups.

Terrorism is not the only thing that nätjättarna blocked in recent years. Google and Microsoft’s search engines do not link to child pornography and there have also been several attempts to stop the internet hate.
