Volvo and Google together about self-driving cars – New Technology

Volvo Cars, Google and Ford starts a collaboration of self-driving cars. Even bildelarföretag as Uber and lifting involved.

The companies form a lobbying organization for the United States in collaboration with legislators and the public to strike a blow for the benefits of self-driving cars means in terms security and availability.

the cooperation group called ‘the self-driving Coalition for Safer Streets’ led by the former head of traffic safety organization NHTSA, David Strickland.

Strickland said in a statement that the best way for this innovation are clear rules that apply across the United states.

the NHTSA has previously stressed the need to avoid a patchwork of different rules for self-driving cars based on state decisions. The technology of artificial intelligence that Google uses for its self-driving cars could legally be seen as a driver in the federal law.

The five companies will initially work with civic organizations, municipalities and companies to spread the message of self-driving cars on the North American continent.

at the same time announces Volvo cars to start the UK’s biggest test project with self-driving cars. The project is called Drive Me London and is to ordinary families may use self-driving cars on public roads.

Volvo will then collect data from users, along with insurance research center Thatcham Research analyzing this data. The project starts in 2017 with a small number of semi-autonomous cars and then expanded to a hundred helautonoma cars in 2018.

– There are several benefits of autonomous cars, says Volvo Chief Hakan Samuelsson. Therefore, governments around the world adapt laws and infrastructure so that autonomous cars can get out on the roads as soon as possible.
