Time to clean up Windows machines from Quicktime – 99mac

Quicktime for Windows is no longer updated and contains security flaws. Time to uninstall the program, in other words.

Windows users got past the # QuickTime for free when installed iTunes, but nowadays the program is not required anymore and Apple has decided to discontinue development. This means that Quicktime for Windows no longer receive any updates.

Meanwhile, the security company Trend Micro found two critical vulnerabilities that could be used by hackers, which means that it is time to uninstall the software if it is left in a Windows-jar near you.

Apple has instructions for how to proceed to uninstall QuickTime on their support pages.
