Previously known that sexdebuten, that is the age at which they have their first sexual intercourse, influenced by family, friends and other social and cultural factors.

But it is not the whole truth. It seems that the genome also have something to say.

I think in any case, researchers at the University of Cambridge after having examined the genomes of more than 380 000 women and men from the UK, Iceland and the United States.

the researchers found 38 gene variants that seem to have the time of sexual debut to do, that is, if earlier or later in life.

the current versions were close to genes previously research has shown are important for brain development and reproductive behavior, as the age when the first child is born.

– one example is a variant of CADM2, a gene that controls nerve cell connections and brain activity, we also discovered a connection to have a risk-taking personality as well as to having first intercourse at a young age and number of children in a lifetime, says John Perry, one of the researchers behind the study, presented in Nature Genetics.

previously known that age at sexdebut affect education and physical and mental health later in life.
