Still using Quicktime? Stop right with it – Metro

Although many programs no longer säkerhetsuppdateras, they still use. In some cases this may involve a risk when new vulnerabilities and security holes are discovered in the programs.

One such program is Apple’s video player Quicktime, which is no longer updated for Windows computers, and right now should be uninstalled. This, according to the US Homeland Security departments .

The warning comes after the Internet security firm Trend Micro have been able to demonstrate two “critical vulnerabilities” in the program, such as Apple no longer release security updates. Security Holes applies only Windows computers, and Mac användere need not worry.

Apple’s Windows version of Quicktime has long been on the decline, and the program was endorsed never officially Windows 8 and 10, but still works on Windows computers. The most recent security update came in January.

According to Trend Micro security hole could mean that hackers can attack your computer if you visit an unsafe web page or open an unsafe file. Yet there are no concrete examples of the attacks should have taken place.
