Apple’s report for the first quarter of 2016 was supposed to have come yesterday. But because of the funeral of the former board member of the company, William Campbell, was shot report up one day.

The big question before the release of the latest figures from the Cupertino-based company’s iPhone. Analysts expect 50 million iPhones sold in the last quarter, writes the Wall Street Journal. That is 18 percent less than the same period last year – and the first time there is a dip in sales.

In addition to the expected drop in sales of iPhone track analysts that revenue will drop by 10 percent. The world’s largest companies thus looks to go against a historically bad report. What is the reason for this?

First do not attract the current lineup of smartphones enough. Just over a month ago, CEO Tim Cook Iphone SE. In principle, an update of iPhone 5s. So not something new and revolutionary as Apple previously accustomed us.

Second, China has it tough financially right now. The Chinese market is important for many companies, but everything has not gone on rails for Apple in the East. For example, recently the Chinese authorities shut down two of the Americans’ services, iTunes Movies and iBooks. It is unclear when the service comes back.

Third, not the smart watch Apple Watch has been the smash hit many believed. Watch celebrates first anniversary on Sunday and it’s been okay. Apple does not go out with figures on the number of watches sold, but analysts estimate that it is about about 12 million units sold. Not bad, but not terrific.

The future is uncertain to Apple. The sequel to the iPhone 6s, probably with the name iPhone 7, should be an innovative product. Otherwise there is the risk that the company loses a bit of its shine and especially its reputation as a trendsetter.

With that said, not just the sky overcast over Apple. UBS analyst Steven Milunovich says the technology site Cnet that the iPhone 7 will help Apple increase sales, 2017.

– Even without really awesome new features, the iPhone 7 increase demand for an upgrade, especially among the more than 200 million iPhone users who do not have a big screen. We have not seen Iphones peak yet.
