It was never thought that it would be an easy challenge for South Korean Lee Se-dol. But losing two rounds in a row was perhaps nothing he expected. And humanity is startled by and watching.

– Yesterday I was surprised, today it is more than that – I have no words, said Lee Se-dol at the subsequent press conference.

AlphaGo, developed by Google-owned Deep Mind, was the one who was best and had the upper hand in a thrilling game that was forced to overtime. Once again, Lee Se-dol give up and leave as losers. In the game’s final part, the players had only 60 seconds to make each move.

Reactions have been mixed: anxiety, surprise or comments about that one hardly expected otherwise. To take on the game uses AlphaGo advanced systems based on machine learning and deep neural networks.

The night game was the second of five and it is the first time the computer encounters a professional player at this level, 9-dan. And Lee Se-dol is not any player, 18 times he has won the world title in the Chinese board game Go.

the success of Google and their AI can give the company a real boost and strengthen their position in the field of artificial intelligence. One area that has largely been dominated by IBM, with Deep Blue and Watson in the lead. But both Google and Microsoft have made great progress, not least proved by the night’s profits.
