Now, Windows Mobile 10 also to older phones – IDG.se

After long delays, Microsoft began quite quietly releasing Windows 10 Mobile to older phones yesterday.

At the same time abandoning the company many mobiles – even some of the models that have been able to test run the operating system Windows 10 Mobile Insider program. In total there will be 18 models that currently runs Windows Phone 8.1 that will make the transition to Windows 10. Lumia 1020 and HTC One M8 are two popular handsets that will not get the new operating system.

“Many older devices could not be upgraded without the customer experience is affected. Our goal is to offer only Windows 10 upgrade on units in which we are sure to continue to deliver a good experience, “wrote Microsoft in a blog post.

Windows 10 Mobile released the new phones already in the autumn , and Microsoft promised to update the older models would be released in December.

It is still unclear whether Microsoft will run the same tough persuasion campaign with Windows Phone customers as they have done with the pC users with Windows 7 and 8.1. So far the company has not said anything about Windows 10 Mobile would be a mandatory update.

If you want to install Windows 10, Microsoft Mobile immediately allow the app Upgrade Advisor. It does not seem to be available at time of writing.
