FBI hacked phone without Apple – Swedish Dagbladet

The Department of Justice has now withdrawn the requirement that the IT giant will help to unlock the phone.

“Our decision to end the lawsuit is based on the fact that we have recently, with the help of a third party, has managed to unlock iphone without compromising any information on the phone, “said the prosecutor in the San Bernardino case Eileen Decker said in a statement.

in a document submitted to the Court shows that the Justice Department has” managed to get over data (Syed) Farooks Iphone and therefore no longer need help from Apple. “

Apple has so far not commented on the information.

the court case has been going on for over a month, when a federal judge ordered Apple to make it possible to unlock a phone that belonged to Syed Farook who along with his wife shot dead 14 people in San Bernardino in December.

Apple has, with support from other iT giants like Google and Facebook, refused on the grounds that it would create a precedent that would make it impossible to protect customer privacy.

Last week, shot a legal round between the parties up since the Department of Justice stated that the FBI could possibly lock up phone using the new technology that the federal police has received information from third parties, but the first tests were needed.
