Now the smartphone with built-in infrared camera – M3

CAT sneak preview S60 already days before the MWC, and down at the fair it attracts a lot of attention, despite a secluded booth located. It is no wonder that, for the S60 is something a little special.

Firstly beats the record in waterproofing. With the CAT S60 can dive for real, down to five meters in an hour at a time. As all CAT’s phones are also durable and can withstand being dropped on the slopes from 1.8 meters height. This kind of phones are usually unfortunately usually extremely bulky and unwieldy armor design. But CAT S60 is the slimmest and most “normal” designed Rugg phone we’ve seen so far.

The other thing that makes it stand out is that it not only has a standard 13 megapixel camera at the back, but above it sits there for a lens, and behind it is an IR camera from the most famous producer of such, Flir. We have tested their resolve thermal cameras and it’s definitely quality. With the infrared camera can see S60 in the infrared up to 100 feet with a large clear mobile screen and a smart app it is possible to visualize heat signals in many clever ways.

What has the common people for the benefit of this? Some of us, perhaps nothing at all. But for builders, electricians, home nick think, hunters and one or two who want to know what Furniture Fido hiding behind it may be how handy anytime. And now you will not have to buy an extra infrared camera for it. It’s all in a phone that even without this feature feels really nice. In any case, after a first quick look.

Phone is well spec’d, if not extreme, with 720p IPS screen of 4.7 inches, åttakärniga Snapdragon 617, 32 gigabytes of storage and a really big battery on the whole 3800 mAh. If that means extreme battery life, it will be fun to try when it is released later this spring. Preliminary target price is 599 Euro.
