Mozilla puts Firefox OS for mobiles – 99mac

Mozilla stops development of its mobile operating system Firefox OS from the next version.

# Mozilla puts down the development of its mobile operating system Firefox OS for version 2.6, and not the company will work with the system from May. This Mozilla announced via their website.

Firefox OS was launched in 2012 and is based on open source and focus on standards such as JavaScript and HTML 5. 2013 began the first phones with Firefox OS will be sold through the Spanish operator Telefonica. Firefox OS has also been launched for televisions by Panasonic.

Mozilla however says that apps developed for Firefox OS will be accepted until at least 2017.
