Microsoft releases sim-cards – start selling mobile data in Windows 10 – IDG.se

Microsoft appears to be on the way in, you battle for mobile connectivity area. With the help of the app, Cellular Data, Windows 10 users to buy mobile data with their Microsoft account instead of signing a contract with an operator.

According to the Microsoft Store, the company is also releasing its own SIM card , and with such a computer or tablet you should be able to buy the mobile data from different national telecommunications operators.  Microsoft itself has made no announcement of the service, but the French virtual mobile operator Transatel writes that the two companies entered into a partnership. Transatel is available in 38 countries, including Sweden, but it is unclear if all countries get service at the same time.

 

 - We want to ensure that mobile data is adopted as a complement to classical wifi connectivity for Windows Tile and -laptopar, and make it easier for consumers to connect to the Internet all the time, wherever they are located, says Microsoft manager Eric Lockard in a press release Transatel.

 

 Windows 10 users will be able to buy a prepaid surf pot from Tran Through Through its Microsoft account, according to the operator. Some prices or information about when the service becomes available is not.

 Apple has a similar solution for some iPad models – a SIM card that makes it possible to switch mobile data provider without changing SIM cards.
