Minecraft Edu is a special version of Minecraft developed by teachers to work in the classroom. The company behind, Teacher Gaming, has partnered with Microsoft since the company bought Mojang and Minecraft. Now Microsoft one step further and buy Minecraftedu to incorporate it into a new version of Minecraft dubbed Minecraft: Education Edition.
According Teacher Gaming will the old version of Minecraft Edu continue to function, but Microsoft will offer discount for all schools that choose to comply with the new Minecraft: Education Edition when it arrives this summer.
In Minecraft Education Edition, the Microsoft claims to be new opportunities for teachers to create relavant materials and to work with students in the classroom.
