Google’s concept with the so-called Chromebooks, computers that can handle everyday tasks with flying colors, but are not suited for heavier duties, has proved to be excellent when it comes to helping people in need such as the need to establish contact with family and friends, or to access a training tool.

Therefore, Google has now started a project called Project Reconnect, which provide non-profit organizations in Germany with the Chromebook computers for free. The idea is to simplify the life of refugees and the computers will be configured with relevant content and software on site from the start.
