Apple makes new offensive in the education market – so the schools will be tempted to buy the iPad – IDG.se

Apple wants just as Google and Microsoft see their products as a training tool number one. But until now they have not adapted either the iPad or the software for the classroom. Something which is now about to change, according to The Verge.

Today the company sends out a preview of the next major iOS update. And it contains a number of new solutions developed specifically for the school environment. The most noticeable will be the ability to have multiple users. A profile for each student in, profiles that can be accessed from any flat anywhere in the classroom.

The familiar apple has long attracted with special offers for schools. With the launch of the iPad they got a head start. But then came Google with cloud services, Chromebook – and a set of services at the school. Microsoft has long been a player in the education market focused even harder in the education sector with the purchase of Minecraft. For they are the largest in the classroom, it can have much greater impact in the long term.

Schools have sometimes opted out of Apple’s tablet because they considered too expensive. Something that may be why they now open for multiple users on the same iPad. Now, students simply log in to their account and reach utbildningsapparna and other materials that they need in school.
