Our online stuff need faster connections. To meet this requirement will Bluetooth® technology be twice as fast and four times better range in the next year, announces the Bluetooth Special Interest Group. Behind the interests of the group include Apple, Intel and Microsoft.

Bluetooth will also receive support for mesh networks. There are networks where each device in the system communicates with other nearby devices, and these in turn sends signals along to their neighbors. This means that the internet of things-gadgets do not necessarily connect through a central hub.
These technology updates are included in BSIG’s plan for 2016, and it is unclear if they will be launched next year.
More new Bluetooth features will be presented in the coming months.
