App will make us kinder on the web – Sveriges Radio

Now launched Fulfiltret – app please secure the keyboard on mobile phones by filtering out all ugly and nasty words and replace them with kind words.

The Whore is the most common word that Western Swedish children use when they write mean things to each other over the network.

The harsher climate of the Internet, especially among young people and children, has become a social problem.

Eight out of ten children says it is easier to be mean and shitty of a text or a commentator field than to say it straight out. That is precisely why the tone of the network significantly harder. Words like whore, cunt, you are thick and fagot are among the most common violations.

But now the app Fulfiltret, designed to please secure the keyboard by filtering out malicious harsh words from the mobile.

– The app is of course no solution to the whole problem but it is a way to highlight problems and create dialogue on how we communicate in our society today, especially on digital platforms, says one of Länsförsäkringar in Gothenburg and Bohuslän, which has released the app.

The installer app can be, for example, no longer write the word “whore” in a text message. The word will be replaced with “jack pot”. “Mongo” is changed to “genius”.

The app is now spreading through a campaign in schools in Gothenburg and Bohuslän.
