Apple Music has 15 million users – 99mac

Tim Cook reveals figures on the music service, Apple Music, including how many pay.

Under Tim Cook’s visit the Conference WSJD Live he discussed, among other things, the music service Apple Music and shared some numbers. Service free introductory period of three months expired at the end of September, for those who began using Apple Music directly at the premiere.

Altogether Apple Music over 15 million users, according to Tim Cook is currently 6.5 million that pay 99 crowns a month. 8.5 million users undergo a free trial period, reports The Verge.

These figures can be compared with the main competitor Spotify, which announced 20 million paying users in June. Spotify expects 100 million users in total at the end of the year, but with the majority during the service free subscription.

# Apple Music was launched on June 30, so October is the first month that Apple has paid. A number of paying customers can therefore be assumed to have forgotten to turn off auto-renewal after the free period of three months. It is therefore still too early to determine the extent to which Apple Music is a success, even if Tim Cook himself says that he is pleased so far.
