Instagram canapés 120 million new users a year – now larger than Twitter – Business Week

Instagram has reached another major goal – the app now has over 400 million users. The app has been growing at a record pace.

“When Instagram was started five years ago felt like 400 million users very far away,” so writing image giant in a new blog which celebrates its now 400 million users. The post says also that 75 percent of the app’s users are outside the US and that every day, divided over 80 million images through the app, and 3.5 billion likes. In total, 40 billion images shared during the app’s lifetime.

According to an estimate from Cnet, only 316 million people who currently use Twitter, which means that Instagram now passed the micro-blog properly.

The new benchmark is also a good news for Facebook. When it bought Instagram 2012, the app is “only” 30 million users. So, in three years it has increased 1,300 percent, an average increase of 123 million new uses every year.
