Apple’s car project picks up speed – 99mac

Apple stepped on the gas and speeds up the timetable for the car-related project Titan to the 2019th

99mac previously written about Apple’s much talked about secret projects # Titan, according to sources, is to develop an electric car. Now reported to Apple accelerate the project further by expanding the workforce by 1 200 people, which represents a tripling of the previous 600, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The reason given is that Apple wants to complete the project already in 2019, a full year earlier than the original schedule was said to be 2020. Project Titan is said to have already been going on for about two years, and was cleared by Tim Cook himself. Previously, Apple has recruited staff from both Tesla and more traditional automakers such as Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz, as well as negotiating with BMW about a possible partnership.

Apple has also hired several experts on self-propelled vehicles, but even so now reported the first Apple car does not become completely self-propelled. The long term plan is, however, to offer completely self-propelled vehicles, according to informed sources.
