Apple Introduces New Apple TV – 99mac

Apple has updated the three year old Apple TV with a new model that is faster and offers apps and many other new features.

Apple held during Wednesday’s court in the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, and revealed a series of new products. Biggest cheers got the long-heralded new version of # Apple TV now launched.

The new unit offers improved performance and several new features. One of the biggest news is the new Siri-remote control with touch functionality and voice control.

The digital assistant Siri plays an important role in finding media and offer things to look at. Users can say “Siri, show me only the newest animated films” and get direct results not only from a position, without any available. You can ask Siri flush for example, a TV episode or show all with a certain actor. You can also see, for example, the weather in a panel without pausing playback.



App Store

The heart of the new Apple TV is an app store with apps. Apple itself has made on its own apps, but now also open to other developers to develop apps for the device and distribute via a digital store. In addition to watching video, users will now be able to play games and shop on Apple TV.

The new operating system of Apple TV will be released in a beta version to developers today, but customers will have wait until the end of October before the new unit can be bought.

Apple TV will be available with two sizes when it comes to storage space, 32 or 64 gigabytes and will cost 149 and 199 dollars. Its predecessor, the third-generation Apple TV, will remain on sale.
