Windows 10 – Microsoft’s new operating system – are notoriously out since a few weeks, and it’s free update for everyone running Windows 7, and 8. As usual, it is an agreement that must be accepted with the new rules, although apparently led to reports of strange side effects and others that does not seem right.
Via Gamerant we can read that Microsoft now can view programs on your computer and block pirated software (apps, games and more). This is contradicted, however, by TechPowerUp who writes that this only applies to Microsoft’s own software and other corporate programs not covered by this.
However, there is one other thing that led to frustration . RockPaperShotGun writes namely Windows 10 can not run SafeDisc and some versions of Securom DRM, and thus becomes including Grand Theft Auto III, the first The Sims and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 unplayable. The reason for this is, according to Boris Schneider-Schon from Microsoft, these have always been regarded as insecure applications and to block them makes Windows more secure.
Although we understand Microsoft’s point of view, it is of course a problem that some people do not longer able to play their favorite games. We will monitor developments and report when there is no solution in sight.
