To consoles get slim versions of a piece in each generation is more the rule than the exception. Sony does, Microsoft is doing it and even Nintendo has released stripped-down versions over the years.

Xbox One is the potentially get his small version first, at least if you listen to the rumors that abound. And here comes a very fresh one; a Chinese source claims namely that it may come sooner than we thought.

It is the forum NeoGAF that the rumor was posted and it says that Microsoft will launch the console during an October event in conjunction with the Surface Pro 4 and the new Lumia phones. Furthermore, states the source that it will be one-third as big as the original and that, lo and behold, released without disc drive.

That we will finally have left records and the physical media on history’s junkyard is nothing new but that Microsoft chooses to go this route is still interesting from the aspect that those who console manufacturers is incredibly dependent on physical betting shops. If the rumor is true or not we get to discover the course of the autumn.
