Therefore boycotting Taylor Swift Apple – Vasterbotten Courier

Taylor Swift, conditional to the most powerful in the pop world, will not give up its best-selling albums ’1989′ on Apple’s new music service. In an open letter which, among others, Billboard has noted she explains why.

She writes that Apple’s music service will offer its customers three free months – and that the technology giant did not give songwriters, producers and artists paid during the three months .

“I think it is shocking, disappointing and quite unlike this historically progressive and generous company,” she writes.

In the letter she points out how devastating it is for less established artists have to give away their music for free in a full quarter and trying to persuade the company to change its policy.

“We are not asking for free iPhones, so please do not ask for our music without compensation,” she writes.

Swift pulled in November back all of their music from Spotify on the grounds that the sale of her CDs fell sharply. The pop star’s album ’1989′ has sold more than 4.9 million copies in the US since it was released in October.

Apple Music launched in late June and will offer subscribers a wide selection of music for ten dollars a month .
