Research Council stops the distribution of contributions to the surgeon and researcher Paolo Macchiarini at Karolinska Institutet.
As the reasons for its decision indicates Research Council researcher has violated the conditions laid authority sets for paying research grant, by, inter alia, have carried out research without the approval by ethics review, and on several occasions published inaccurate or incomplete information in scientific journals.
– We look very seriously at what has happened. It is vital for the confidence of research scientists who conduct their business with public funds do not cheat in their research or trading unethically, says Research Council Director General Sven Stafström.
