Since the early 2000s, Apple has dominated digital music sales, but since then the market has passed a cane right downhill. Now the company wants to embark on track again, and develops the hit WWDC next week rumored they launch their Spotify challenger, writes the Wall Street Journal.

The price tag is said to match the main opponent to the letter. $ 10 a month, the cost in the US, which should match the 99 per month Spotify costs in Sweden. There will also be a free version of the service, but there will only be a few songs to be available.

With a customer base of several hundred million iTunes users with registered credit cards are expected Apple to have a big chance on the streaming market, even if they are late on the ball. Today, they account for over 80 percent of the decline in digital music försäljn again, about the same market share as Spotify has on the growing streaming front.

In addition to pure music Apple also is expected to launch some kind of basic radio service. There, profiled artists and DJs playing tunes and the company is said to have been in contact with including Q-Tip, Dr. Dre and Drake.

But the key to Apple seriously to compete with Spotify is to get record companies on board. So far, it is said that Apple has no agreements with the three largest record companies – Sony, Universal and Warner. If an unveiling of the service will take place next week hangs probably because the papers are signed and ready.

Previously owns Apple streaming service Beats by over 300,000 paying users. They bought the company – which is best known for its headphones – about a year ago. Probably the Beats integration into Apple’s own streaming service eventually.
