Google begins with free music – 99mac

Google will compete with Spotify and trying to attract users with a free version of its service Google Play Music.

The options for listening to streamed music just gets more and more. Earlier this year launched Jay-Z service # Tidal and Apple will shortly release the new service # Apple Music. In Sweden # Spotify greatest on the market with its free and a paid subscription, but also in several other markets such as the United States.

Now take Google up the fight with the Swedish service and releases a free version of # Google Play Music. Since before it is available without advertising for 99 dollars per month, but will now also an advertising-funded version.

Free users will not have full access to the music library, but will be able to use ready-made playlists Google’s service Songza. The playlists are themed for example driving or exercising. Users can also search for an artist, song, or album and create a radio station of similar music.

The free version is launched first in the United States where it is to test over the web already. Next week, IOS and Android users a chance to test.
