The survival after cardiac arrest doubled if the patient is receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on site before the ambulance arrives. It shows a Swedish study published in The New England Journal of Medicine.

The study shows the benefits of the great effort made to train around three million Swedes in CPR, says cardiologist Jacob Hollenberg Dagens Medicin.

Another study shows that text messages to prospective lifeguards increases the proportion of patients who receive CPR.
