Apple aiming for 100 million users of the new service – the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

Apple is expected to launch its much talked about new streaming service for music on Monday, when the company’s annual developer conference WWDC, Worldwide Developers Conference, begins in San Francisco.

And the goals are ambitious: according to news agency AP aiming Apple to bring 100 million customers to the service.

the current situation, market Spotify about 15 million paying customers globally. In total there are about 41 million people who pay for subscriptions for any music streaming service, according to data from industry association IFPI, International Federation of the Phonographic Industry.

Beats Music, streaming service included in the purchase when Apple bought the headphone manufacturing company $ 3 billion last year, had in December only 303,000 subscribers in the United States. That compares with Spotify’s US figure, which is 4.7 million customers.

When Apple launches the new service will present the Beats Music customers to migrate over, and the old service will, according to the AP then be closed down. Apple’s new service will, as previously speculated, will be offered with a three-month free trial period and thereafter at a price of 10 dollars a month.

The streaming service is expected to be mated number on Apple’s developer conference, because the investment in a new TV -service has been postponed. But among the other news that nonetheless is expected to be presented include improvement in the company’s payment solution apple pay as well as new services for the voice-activated assistant Siri.
