Oculus Rift pauses development for Mac – 99mac

VR glasses Oculus Rift is on its way to consumers, but now delayed Mac version indefinitely.

In March last year bought this up Oculus VR, which develops virtual glasses Oculus Rift. In August released a new version of the development tools for # Oculus Rift, among other things, offered support for OS X and 99mac took the opportunity to test.

Earlier this month it was announced that a consumer version of the glasses will begin shipping in the first quarter of 2016, but in a blog post on its website is now writing oculus that the development of a Mac version of the glasses have “paused” to focus on a strong Windows -lansering. Project leader Atman Binstock writes:

“Our development for OS X and Linux is paused so that we can focus on delivering a high quality VR experience to consumers on Windows existing hardware, software and content. We want to go back to the development of both OS X and Linux, but we have no timetable. “
