Microsoft’s digital assistant for Android and iOS – New Technology

The new feature called Mobile Companion will be built into Windows 10. It says Joe Belfiore, general manager of Microsoft operating systems, in a blog post.

The grip consistent with the strategy that many expect from Microsoft – because Microsoft’s mobile efforts are far behind Android and iOS in popularity it is important to make all the apps and features from Microsoft available in competitors’ phones.

Windows 10 will naturally work best with Windows Phone, without requiring user do something. But both Android mobiles and Iphone / Ipad will after some simple settings in the Phone Companion automatically be able to sync photos, music, documents, and notes with a Windows PC.

In addition, the use Microsoft digital assistant Cortana as a separate app. Cortana becoming thus a challenger to Apple’s Siri and Google Now.

Cortana can help with reminders and answer questions. However, the version of Android and iOS miss some features that require tighter integration with operating systems – including making settings, open the app or launch a voice-controlled mode with “Hey, Cortana.”
