Technology Wreck covered up Report – Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet

For a long while a man sat at a desk with the text “Sodertalje” next to the box. It was Benny Karlsson.

He usually works as a broadcast producer at SVT but on this particular evening on the other side of the camera lens, to test the technology before the later broadcasts.

– Actually, TV host have been sitting there, but since I was there and it was a test so I sat commented Benny Karlsson its appearance on SVT’s website.

A green curtain was also at one time slow down in front the camera. Only after about six minutes with mostly black box worked broadcast again, then well into the program.

Report editors had themselves not noticed anything when the transmission appeared normal internally. In several parts of the country saw the broadcast also quite normal out, according to SVT.

The error was found to be at Teracom, which is responsible for SVT’s transmissions. It was an automatic changeover from regional to national broadcasting that did not work, says Jessica Bissmark at Teracom’s press office.

– When we discovered we did a manual clutch.

That it turned black the box is not a break in a tower, but on the regional transmission remained, and there was not a long time in broadcasting. How this could happen is unclear.

– We are, and troubleshooting. And we have extra staffing for tonight’s regional broadcasts. It will not happen again.
