Progress Chalmersforskare- graphene could lead to new computers – Swedish Radio

It is a research group at Chalmers have developed new uses for the super material graphene. The project could lead to a whole new type of computer, but it will take time.

The research group at Chalmers using graphene as a leader to control which way electron spins, which in in turn can be used to store information.

The substance is called spintronics and research may eventually lead to an entirely new kind of computing that is both faster and more energy-efficient. However, the development will take many years. Project leader Saroj Dash says that the technology will eventually be found in electronics in 20-30 years.
