Here is the future of business – New Technology

Imagine an eco-friendly paper bag that keeps food frozen for 24 hours. Or a new skin cream that has been tested without animal testing. Or why not a shower that saves energy by reusing hot water.

There are just three examples of exciting Swedish innovations which you can read whether via the link list in the right column.

For the eighth year in a row we have on New Technology and Business World named Sweden’s 33 most promising young technology companies. The criteria for inclusion on our list is that it is a maximum of seven years and that it is based on a technological innovation with international potential.

Another important criterion is that the company wants to change the rules of the game in its industry. It can also be about creating an entirely new market.

Volumental, who developed a simple way to create 3D models, would For example, customize the world and make it easy to find shoes that fit, glasses that will not pinch and headphones that perfectly.

Gynius can save many women’s lives, especially in poor countries, with her little cheap microscope to detect cervical cancer.

Mapillary aims to cover every place on earth with its independent service for street images. To succeed, it takes Mapillary help of users.

Of the year’s 22 new companies on the list. They have cases identified among the nearly 300 proposals which flowed in to the editor.

Four of the companies secured their places in the 33-list tour when we visited four cities from north to south.

We started in Linköping where ChargeStorm, which develops smart laddlösningar for electric vehicles, were selected by the jury.

In Umeå won Syndigate with its trading platform for the media industry.

Det-animal allergy test from Senzagen won in Lund, and on tour finishing in Gothenburg was the IT company Speedment which the jury selected.

The purpose of the 33 list is to highlight the new companies that can become tomorrow’s multi-billion and export successes. We are pleased that many who have been with the 33-list previously already managed to reach far. A long line has grown to over a hundred million in sales – or sold for billions. This past year has four 33 listings company bought: Mojang, Tail-f, Telepo and Video Plaza.

Others still have a way left. More about what had happened to the companies that have been on the list, you can read on Wednesday here at www.nyteknik.se
