Go to the bank at the library – helagotland.se

EDITORIAL Islander It was not long ago. The time when a visit to the bank was necessary to put on a loan, when you could talk a little bit about the tax COMPLICATION when met at the tax office box the last minute last day that the declaration would be inside. There are many areas that digitalisation affected our everyday lives, in part, without us really thought about it.

The state digitization Commission has devoted himself to ponder the consequences of development, what is digital literacy and what is commissioned by the state.

In the report “Makes Sweden in the future – digital literacy” has investigator Jan Gulliksen provided some suggestions.

Today, access to the digital services of various kinds essential for to fully function in society. It is still possible to get by without being connected, but then you will be directed to exceptional solutions and second-class options.

A computer with internet access is now an integral part of a fair standard of living, and, according to the National Board included in the home equipment that can receive financial assistance to.

But it is also important to have knowledge in order to use digital technology, particularly when different forms of government contacts. Especially for many older people may be a problem, and many are younger relatives who may act as support in the digital world.

Of course it is in most cases a very good solution, but it is far from all who have help in sufficient proximity for it to be a viable means in everyday life.

This has been digitizing the Commission pondered, and comes with some suggestions. One is that it is the same as for Root and Ruth-deduction shall be possible to make tax deductions for guidance and technical support in the home. A proposal very similar to the drawing deductions Centre Party launched a year ago.

Another suggestion is that local authorities should be supported to build up local digital service centers. They make it easier for citizens to use various forms of digital public services.

Even today there are probably base for this in the municipalities – many libraries already acts partly as digital service centers. There is also a reasonable municipal task, as one of the municipalities’ data is that there should be a library.

Digitizing Commission points out that the starting point is that the support is designed so that people in different parts of the municipality can take part of the aid.

Both of these proposals should be implemented. Now, unfortunately, little chance that the present government put forward proposals for extended forwards – they’re more focused on dismantling the type of stimulus.

The idea of digital service centers should be able to get broad support in both the government and parliament. And maybe we can take the opportunity to both borrow a book and renew the lease on the house at the next library visit.
