After the EU judgment – over 5000 Swedish case where the Swedes want to get away results have been received sökjätten.

Today’s Media told me earlier today about the doctors, residents of Malmö, which is true Google to get search results broken away. This after receiving no to a direct request to Google to remove links to a Tech Wire containing grossly offensive comments and racist and threatening statements.

According to the man’s lawyer, Frederick Engfeldt lawsuit can be seen as a “pioneer case”.

– The EU ruling is relatively clear, but there are always gray areas. Nevertheless, this is so gross violations that my client should be able to have success This is a new situation, there is no Swedish practice. This is possibly a pioneer case, says, says Fredrik Engfeldt to Dagens Media.

The Google Nordic Communications Gustaf Brusewitz would not comment on individual cases.

– I have not read the lawsuit and it is difficult to comment on individual cases, he says to Dagens Media.

Since the EU ruling in May, which opened to individuals have the right to request that search engines remove the results of the individual, Google has received a large number of cases.

The company reports current statistics on the issue in its transparency report.

So far, the 5374 Swedish requests to get search results about themselves discard pile, spread over 20,151 URLs, submitted to Google.

Of these URLs have 38.6 percent removed from search results.

– We look at each case individually. Sometimes it is easier to make judgments, sometimes it is difficult judgments in the case of rather vague legal terms, says Gustaf Brusewitz.

It’s no secret that Google was not happy with the EU ruling.

– It was not that we welcomed it, we were quite surprised. But a company like Google, with the resources we have, can take on this, says Gustaf Brusewitz and continues:

– This applies to all the search engines, and smaller players may have a harder time dealing with this.

In a comparison with other European countries, Sweden appears to be over-represented in the statistics. From Denmark has 1859 requests received. The corresponding figure for Norway is 1951 and for Finland 2 461st

All requests are handled centrally by a special team within Google’s European organization, if necessary, take the help of local expertise from employees in the country.

The phenomenon is popularly known as the “right to be forgotten ‘which arose in the European Commission’s proposal for a new Data Protection Regulation 2012. Both marketers and IT giants have criticized the regulation.
