57 million to Research Umeå – Västerbotten Courier

Umeå Two Umeå-based research projects to be shared together almost 57 million in the next five years of an effort from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation.

– Very good and pleasing. This is research that may lead to new scientific breakthroughs, and it shows that our scientists are highly competitive, says Lena Gustafsson, Rector at Umeå University in a press release.

Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation has total granted SEK 810 million to 24 research projects, including two projects are the main applicant from Umeå University.

The two projects in Umeå awarded money is “The brain microcircuits Integrating Information from Several Senses” receiving 29,352,000 crowns and “Dynamics of epigenetic memory” that get 27,309,000 crowns.
