Ferrari boss gets fired after 23 years – Expressen

Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo is forced to leave the company after a brawl with Fiat’s CEO Sergio Marchionne.

The two Italian managers will not agree, and among other things, the row over Ferrari’s future in the Fiat Group and Ferrari’s performance at the F1 tracks.

There are two strong-willed men who fought together in the top of the Fiat Group. On one side of the fraction is the Fiat Group CEO Sergio Marchionne – a bilchef which many consider to be skilled and those who managed to assemble Fiat with American Chrysler.

But Marchionne wants Ferrari to take the lead when the Fiat-Chrysler will build and sell more luxury and sports cars in order to earn more money. Fiat also owns 90 percent of Ferrari.

Marchionne thinks that F1 team Ferrari underperforming and he has called for the results this year for “unacceptable”. di Montezemolo has responded by saying “Fiat is now the American” while Marchionne pointed out that “no one is irreplaceable.”

This week di Montezemolo announced that he will leave Ferrari after 23 years.
