7 functions we look forward to in iOS 8 – 99mac

On September 17, the IOS 8, and Peppen is great in the newsroom. Here are the seven features that we most look forward to.

7th Interactive notes

This is a most awaited feature that removes one of the most long-lasting annoyances with iOS, namely having to unlock the home screen to reply to a notice. With interactive notifications in iOS 8, we will be able to accept party invitations directly without keying in the passcode, and reply to text messages directly from the post without leaving the app we have up there.

6th Family Sharing

Despite the limitations that you can only belong to a “family” at the same time so we look forward to being able to share apps and other purchases along with partner, parents and children. Now, it is the children’s parents approve purchase of smurfbär which hopefully prevents spending shocks when the bill comes from Itunes. Smooth is also common to have photo albums, and not least a family calendar

5th Cooperation between entities

We have long wanted to have more and better interaction between the PC, tablet and phone, and with the various parts under the name of “Continuity” this looks to be a reality. It will be nice to iPhone can share its network automatically, and also the ability to start writing an email on the iPhone and then continue on your PC via Handoff. What we look forward to most is that we will now be able to write common “green” sms on iPad IOS since 8 takes care of the delivery via the phone then. Will also work on Mac when Yosemite will.

4th Group messaging

Speaking of text, it is high time that the built app Messages borrows some features from alternative services as Whatsapp and Facebook Messages. To send audio clips will probably be fun, but we are most excited about the opportunity to name the group conversations and add and remove participants in a discussion. When friends chattering too much, it is also nice to activate the “Do Not Disturb” to take a temporary break from the conversation.

3rd Dictation in Swedish

Okay it’s not Siri, but it will be very nice to dictate their angry letters to the editor to the local newspaper instead of manually inputting the text. Dictation in Swedish is just one of 22 new dictation languages, so those who prefer talking to their Indonesian Iphone has reason to be happy.

2nd Homekit

Homekit is not so much a function of its own, we are looking forward, as we yearn for what the various app developers can do with the framework. We want mysbelysningen automatically activated on Friday evening when we get home, and any time that the coffee machine starting with the push of a button from the bed. All this we will probably not be able to do tomorrow, but IOS 8 will be the start of the smart home.

1st Divisions

Additional apps is probably the biggest new feature in IOS 8, and will allow us to use our favorite photo filter directly in the Photos app, and not least integrate 1Password with apps that require login. We also look forward to a smoother way for different apps and social networks to add sharing buttons in Safari. No more having to copy the link and open the Instapaper just to save it. Pressing a key only, and boom that’s it.
